Headshot on Mac Field at Grinnell COllege

Hi! I'm Mitsuru!

I am a sophomore at Grinnell College, majoring in Physics and Economics. I am originally from Tokyo in Japan.

In college, I am involved in department jobs in physics, club activities (GrinTECH, JCA), and photography.

In my free time, I like to play classical music from my favorite video game, Xenoblade, take some scenery photos, and play FPS games.

I like drinking coffee, and cannot stay active without a cup of coffee in the morning.

Academic Interests

Current interests include, but are not limited to, computational and statistical Physics, fluid and non-fluid mechanics, and optimization. I’m interested in the analytical approach apparent both in physics and economics.

Using knowledge and tools, I’d like to, in the future, work in the aerospace industry and develop technology for social good.

I love discussing space development and technology such as satellites and rockets. It’s interesting to talk about the recent progress from the perspective of engineering, but I also love to discuss those from an economic, social, and political standpoint.

My Experiences

Software Engineer                                                           August 2021

I worked on developing the algorithm-based application where it finds the shortest path on moon surface. Here’s the screenshot of how it works visually.

I worked on 3D modeling of satellite parts. Here is the photo of the 3D modeled telescope, planned to attach to the satellite model.
